Seaguard Class A Foam Concentrate BFFF 0.1% to 1.0% USDA Approved

Seaguard Class A fire fighting foam concentrate is a high performance extinguishing agent
primarily used for wildland fire fighting. It is an extremely efficient foam concentrate that is
used by fire services all around Australia for the control of class A fires such as bush fires.
Seaguard Class A foam extinguishes fire effectively with the properties of:
• Wetting Agent. The solution will reduce the surface tension of water from
approximately 75 dynes/cm down to 22 dynes/cm. This makes the water “wetter” and gives
it the ability to wet out class A fuels. The use of class A foams effectively extends the volume
of water carried on a fire appliance.
• Stable foam Blanket. When used through appropriate aspirating equipment the
product will produce a stable foam blanket that will smother and extinguish fires. The foam
blanket provides a vapour control function and can be used in some Class B fire applications.
The stable foam blanket can cling to vertical surfaces and is a “three dimensional foam”.
• Drainage time. The foam has a drainage rate of water from the foam blanket that will
cool and extinguish burning fuels. The continuous flow of water from the blanket also
prevents the reignition of the fuel.

Seaguard Class A Foam can be used with following equipment such as:
• Handline Nozzles with low, medium or high foam expansion fittings.
• Portable or fixed inline (venturi type) proportioners
• Around the Pump proportioning systems
• Compressed Air Foam systems (CAF systems).
• Balanced pressure bladder tank proportioners
• Fixed wing aircraft
• Helicopter Bucket
The product can be used with fresh, salt, bore or brackish water.

Seaguard Class A foam meets the requirements of:
• NFPA 18 Wetting Agent Standard 2006.
• NFPA 1150 Standard on Foam Chemicals for Fires in Class A Fuels – 2004.
• USDA Approval. The Seaguard Class A formulation is Qualified by USDA Forest Service
In Accordance with Forest Service Specification 5100-307a.

Seaguard Class A foam is manufactured from surface active agents and foaming agents to
produce a very low environmental impact. It is fully biodegradable and the resulting foam
solution can be successfully treated in biological waste water treatment systems. Seaguard
Class A Foam Concentrate does not contain fluorosurfactants which include PFOS and PFAS.
