Solberg® DoD 3155 Training Foam Concentrate

SOLBERG® DoD 3155 is an economical training foam product for cold and hot training exercises. The product is a super concentrate that must be diluted by adding 1 litre to 19 litres of water, then proportionate the mixture at 6% through air-aspirated or non air-aspirated equipment. The resulting foam can be used for cold training exercises to allow crews to become familiar with their equipment and have minimal environmental impact. In addition, the foam can be used for hot training exercises on hydrocarbon, non-water miscible fuels.
Originally designed for use on Department of Defence fire training grounds, SOLBERG DoD 3155 is a unique training tool that is used to assist trainee fire fighters to become familiar with flammable liquid fire fighting scenarios. Whether the facility utilises LPG simulators, or controlled flammable liquid props, DoD 3155 foam solution will allow familiarisation with foam generation equipment that will give fire fighters confidence and learn the appropriate use of hand held nozzles and even fire fighting appliances. Whether the scenario is shipboard, aircraft crash rescue or battleground, this foam concentrate is an appropriate training tool. This product is also suitable for civil aviation, fire brigade and maritime training schools.
SOLBERG DoD 3155 Training Foam Concentrate has the following key features that makes it a superior product for training ground applications.
Visual Substitute: SOLBERG DoD 3155 Training Foam looks like a typical foam concentrate, and is used with conventional fire fighting foam making equipment.
Ready Re-ignition: Unlike a typical Foam concentrate, SOLBERG SCTF allows the fuel to be readily re-lit.
Cold Training: With minimum environmental impact, the foam is suitable for equipment familiarisation through cold training exercises.
Safety: As the foam is designed to be purpose-mixed for each training session, there is no risk of accidental substitution for a foam concentrate in a real fire situation.
Environmental: Designed for minimal environmental impact. This product contains no organohalides or other persistent chemicals. It is recommended that the fire fighting solution resulting from this product be treated by appropriate waste treatment facilities before being released into groundwater.
Eco-Toxicity: DoD 3155 Training Foam has undergone a programme of testing to assess the impact of foam on the natural environment. Data indicate that this product is low in toxicity to tested aquatic organisms and completely biodegradable. (Material Safety Data sheets are available upon request.)
Waste Treatment: SOLBERG DoD 3155 Training Foam Concentrate can be effectively treated using activated sludge waste water treatment facilities for maximum biodegradation.
Storage: DoD 3155 Training Foam may be stored for at least 5 years without change in its performance characteristics. Freezing and thawing of the product will have no effect on its performance. Freeze thaw cycling may cause slight stratification which may be overcome with moderate agitation.
