The 3M™ Scott™ ELSA (Emergency Life Support Apparatus) is an escape breathing apparatus which provides a constant supply of air for rapid escape from hazardous industrial and marine environments.

Intended for rapid escape from hazardous industrial and marine environments, the 3M™ Scott™ ELSA (Emergency Life Support Apparatus) is designed to be reliable, robust, and quick and simple to operate, ensuring maximum protection in escape situations. The apparatus consists of a steel or carbon fibre cylinder with a combined cylinder valve and pressure reducer, a supply hose to the hood, and a carrying bag. The user activates the ELSA by opening the bag, which automatically releases a pin that’s attached with an activating strap. The constant-flow hood features a cubic design with a large visor area for peripheral vision, while an ori-nasal inner mask prevents misting and reduces carbon dioxide dead space. The flame-retardant PVC-coated material is flexible and, along with an ozone-resistant elastomeric neck seal, helps provide ease of donning over spectacles, beards or long hair. The black antistatic polyurethane bag is available for those in potentially explosive atmospheres. The ELSA is approved to the European Standard EN 1146:2005, MED (Shipswheel approval) and ISO 23269-1:2008.

apparatus is an escape breathing apparatus which provides
a constant supply of air for rapid escape from hazardous
industrial and marine environments.
The ELSA is simple and quick to operate, reliable and robust
in use, ensuring maximum protection in an escape situation.
The ELSA is available in durations of 15 minutes in high
visibility PVC or black anti-static polyurethane materials. The
ELSA apparatus consists of a cylinder with combined cylinder
valve and reducer, supply hose to constant flow hood and
storage bag.
The ELSA is activated upon opening the bag whereby a pin
which is attached to the bag via a strap is released.

The 3M™ Scott Safety ELSA is suitable for use in Marine or
Industrial Escape settings for escape use only.

The ELSA by 3M™ Scott Safety is certified to AS/NZS
1716:2012.
The ELSA is also CE marked in accordance with EN1146 with
EC/686/86.
The ELSA is also Lloyd’s Marine approved (MED Shipswheel)

Users need to be trained in the safe operation of this
equipment. Routine checks must be carried out in
accordance with the user instructions. Cleaning should also
only be carried out as specified in the user instructions.

All servicing must be carried out by trained personnel who
have been trained and are deemed competent by the
manufacturer and hold a current 3M/ Scott Safety SCBA
technician’s certificate.

The apparatus must be stored in a clean dry environment
away from direct heat and sunlight. Storage temperature
should not exceed -10°C to +40°C.
